Countertops in Fresno

Quartz, granite and quartzite countertops for kitchens, bathrooms, islands and bars — templated to your cabinets, not to a drawing, and installed by the same team that built the boxes underneath them.

Why it matters who sets them

A countertop is only as straight as the cabinets under it.

Most countertop problems are not countertop problems. They are cabinet problems that only show up once a slab is laid across them — a run that is out of level, a corner out of square, an overhang with nothing underneath it to carry the weight.

Because we build and set the cabinetry ourselves, the template is taken off cabinets we know are right. There is no second company arriving to measure someone else’s work, and no argument later about whose tolerance was off.

It also means your counter and your cabinet door get chosen in the same room, under the same light, at the same time — instead of picking a slab at one showroom and hoping it works with a door you saw at another.

Materials

Countertop materials we fabricate in Fresno

We carry several materials because they behave differently, not because a longer list looks better on a page.

Quartz

Engineered, non-porous and the most forgiving surface we install. No sealing, consistent pattern slab to slab, and it takes a working family kitchen without much thought. The usual answer when the kitchen gets heavy daily use.

Granite

Natural stone with movement no engineered surface reproduces. Every slab differs, so you pick the actual slab rather than a sample chip. It needs sealing periodically and we tell you how often for the stone you chose.

Quartzite

Natural stone that reads like marble but is considerably harder. The answer for clients who want marble in a kitchen that would destroy actual marble. Priced above granite and worth it in the right room.

Edge profiles

Eased, bevelled, bullnose, ogee and mitred. A mitred edge makes a thin slab read as a thick one and is what most waterfall islands use. We show profiles in person because they photograph badly.

Islands and waterfalls

Waterfall ends, seated overhangs and mitred returns need the cabinet and the stone planned together — the support has to exist before the slab arrives. This is where doing both trades in-house earns its keep.

Backsplashes

Matching splash in the same slab, or full-height behind a range. Full-height means far less grout to keep clean, and it is increasingly what people ask for once they have seen it in person.

How it runs

Template, fabricate, install.

Cabinets go in first and get levelled. Then counters are templated off the real room — every wall is out of square somewhere, and a template catches what a tape measure does not.

Fabrication follows, then installation and sealing where the material needs it. Sinks, cooktop cutouts and faucet holes are cut to the fixtures you actually bought, which is why we ask you to have them on site before template day.

If you are replacing counters only and keeping existing cabinets, that is a normal job for us. We will tell you honestly whether the existing boxes are sound enough to carry new stone before you commit.

Common questions

Countertops in Fresno — common questions

It is driven by material, slab count, edge profile and how much fabrication the layout needs — cutouts, mitres and waterfall ends all add labour. We price off a real layout rather than a square-foot guess, and you get a figure with the slab named on it.

If the kitchen takes heavy daily use and you would rather not think about maintenance, quartz. If you want movement and natural variation and do not mind sealing it periodically, granite. We show you both in slab form first, because sample chips mislead on both.

Yes, and plenty of clients do. We check the existing cabinets will carry new stone and tell you if they will not. Replacing counters alone is one of the biggest visual changes available short of a full remodel.

Someone should be, and your sink and faucet should be on site. Template day is when final decisions about overhang, seam placement and cutouts get made, and those are much easier to settle in person.

Fabrication usually runs days rather than weeks, though it varies with material and slab availability. We give you the date range at template rather than a vague promise.

Yes — Fresno, Clovis, Madera, Sanger, Visalia and the surrounding Central Valley.

Next step

Bring your cabinet door. We will put slabs next to it.

Come to the showroom and see quartz, granite and quartzite against the door style you are considering, under the same light. No obligation and no pressure to decide that day.
